Strategic support to make activities accessible, focusing specifically on two exhibitions.
Where we started
The Centro Trevi – TreviLab requested staff training on accessibility, the production of videos in Italian Sign Language (LIS) and Austrian Sign Language (ÖGS), and strategic support to make some of their activities accessible, specifically:
- the exhibition ‘Artifices: i creatori dell’arte’ (exhibition on the Romans);
- the exhibition ‘L’Artigianato in due tempi. Handwerk im Wandel’ (photographic exhibition on artisans)
What we did
With the help of specialist professionals, we developed a series of targeted actions and tools.
The following was planned and implemented to make the two exhibitions accessible:
- accessibility training for staff at the Centre;
- drafting of the audio description for the exhibition on artisans;
- Italian and German translations and audio recordings;
- Italian and Austrian Sign Language interpreting;
- subtitling in Italian and German;
- tactile maps;
- video and audio services: filming, recording and editing
Result: exhibitions are accessible to a wider audience
Thanks to the strategic support and materials provided, the exhibitions became accessible to a wider, more diverse audience.
The creation of videos with Italian Sign Language (LIS) and Austrian Sign Language (ÖGS) is an important step in this process, helping to make the Centre and its services more accessible to all citizens.
In addition, staff training has increased awareness of accessibility issues and helped develop new skills, while also allowing for a more structured approach.
